Frequently asked questions
Does it receive NOAA weather information?
Yes. The weather band covers 162.400–162.550 MHz. Reception depends on local transmitter coverage.
Can it charge a phone?
It has a built-in power bank for emergency device charging. Charging performance depends on the connected device and available battery charge.
Is it waterproof?
It carries an IPX3 rating. Do not immerse it in water.
Can I charge while listening to radio broadcasts?
Radio mode disables USB charging and device charging to reduce interference. Leave Radio mode before charging.
How should I use solar and hand-crank charging?
Use USB-C for routine charging. The solar panel primarily maintains the battery and extends use. The hand crank provides backup power when another source is unavailable.
How do I pair Bluetooth?
Select BT and pair your phone with “D9”. Bluetooth receives audio from your device; wireless-headphone transmission is not documented.
How do I store and maintain the battery?
Charge fully before first use and recharge at least every three months. The manual advises one minute of cranking before first use or after more than 60 days unused. Avoid charging in high heat.
Can I use headphones?
Connect headphones to the 3.5mm jack. The SOS alarm also plays through connected headphones; take care before activating it.
Are accessories in the photos included?
The stated package includes the radio, charging cable and manual. Phones, headphones, microSD cards and other scene accessories are not listed as included.
